Dear students,

Agricultural activity technically consists of plant production, animal production and agricultural technology branches. Agricultural Economics shows the conditions and ways for these 3 main production branches to be included in an agricultural enterprise in a way that will enable rational work. Increased productivity in agricultural activity can be achieved through rational work and innovation applications of enterprises. However, it is a wrong approach to accept that all innovations and developments in the technical field can be applied in agriculture. Because techniques that do not comply with economic conditions have no place in practice. Therefore; in the field of agricultural economics, topics such as land use, utilization of production factors, organization, marketing, planning, expropriation and valuation, rural development and rural sociology and the applications of these topics, agricultural policy and farmer education are of great importance. The Department of Agricultural Economics was established to provide education and conduct research on these topics both at the enterprise level and at national/international levels.

We would be happy to see you, our valued prospective students, among us so that we can train effective agricultural economists in this field.
